Justyna Maria Porowska
A meticulous, ethereal and fairytale world.
Born in Poland in 1991 and currently based in Switzerland, Justyna Maria Porowska cultivates an artistic universe where technical precision converges with raw emotion. Her journey is defined by a compelling duality: the structured discipline of architectural space balanced against the expressive freedom of the canvas.
Her foundation in scenography and her Master’s degree in Architecture from the Warsaw University of Technology profoundly inform her practice. This academic rigor manifests through a masterful command of texture and an intentional economy of technique, where each layer of matter constructs a space of its own.

FROM OBJECT TO PRESENCE
Justyna Maria Porowska explores the metamorphosis of the object into a work of art, positioning deep attention and raw emotion as the primary catalysts of creation. Her paintings emerge from an ongoing dialogue between materiality, color and light, where every gesture serves as both an exploration and a revelation, imbuing the canvas with a singular, living presence.

“ Through color and material, Porowska reveals the hidden poetry of the everyday. ”

THE ALCHEMY OF THE ORDINARY
Her universe unfolds as an ethereal, enchanted realm, a collection of intimate landscapes nourished by childhood dreams and the poetic transformation of the everyday. In this space, the ordinary is rendered magical and forms are saturated with the weight of memory. Through repetition, variation, and experimentation, she weaves a visual language that is at once deeply personal and inviting, drawing the viewer into a world where color and texture dissolve into atmospheric vistas.
A PAUSE FOR WONDER
In her artworks for ARTEM, Porowska champions an art form where every piece, refined by her own hand, restores a sense of presence and intimacy to the artistic experience. Her practice stands as a reaffirmation of the poetry and wonder inherent in creation, a deliberate pause against the backdrop of an increasingly hurried and utilitarian world.
