Description
Powerful, symbolic and striking : "Gardien de Lumière" (Guardian of Light) is presented as a collector’s set of two sculptural vases : "Gardien de Lumière" (Piccolo) and "Gardien de Lumière" (Grande). The work unfolds through a dialogue between two mirrored faces : the Eye, an ancient symbol of protection and a watchful anthropomorphic Sun.
Handcrafted in ceramic and individually hand-painted by the artist Anton Hasler, the small and large vase come together to form a powerful visual presence, designed to inhabit a space like contemporary totems.
This pursuit of coherence is reflected in a mixed-media approach that underscores the breadth of the artist’s practice. Acrylic, oil pastel and marker converge to articulate layered visual languages. Precise linework affirms the clarity of symbol, while softened, diffused passages introduce movement and breath. The resulting tension between definition and blur becomes a metaphor for perception itself : an attempt to reconcile fragmentation through a unified, contemplative vision.
